Invite your Center’s current parents to include their friend’s children
Invite your Center’s current parents to include their friend’s children
Use a holiday celebration as a way to grow your child care business
Chances are good that you will have some sort of Easter festivities for the children that attend your daycare center. Why not think about innovative ways to reach out to potential parents? For the cost of a some extra eggs, candy and other treats, make your Easter celebration special. Email an invitation (take a look at Evite.com if you want an easy way to create a digital invitation) to each family that comes to your center. Take a look at your marketing budget (do we have one of those?) and decide if you will allow each family to bring one, or several children to your egg hunt.

- Compare the cost of some eggs and candy with a print advertisement. Plus you get face time with potential parents!
Don’t be afraid to set parameters for your event
If you decide that each child could bring one friend, then set the parameters of participation. Don’t be afraid to say that this is a marketing effort you are utilizing to meet new, potential parents. You decide what your guidelines are, but here are a few suggestions:
*Pre-registration is required and includes the email address for the parent of the child attending
*The ages of the children that are not currently enrolled in your child care center, must fit within the age ranges that your child care services
*Set limits on the number of eggs, or candy, per person
*Limit enrollment to the first 20, 50, or 100 that pre-register that fits within your budget
Use this as an opportunity to showcase your child day care center
Be flexible but remember why you’re doing this. If the idea is to show off your center to potential parents, it might be a great way to reach out to parents you’ve met with over the previous months. You might have a parent that calls to say, “I have this friend who would also really like to come” to which you could offer to call that parent personally, and invite them if you want their business. Don’t be shy about explaining why you are doing this promotion (to increase enrollment) and that you would love the opportunity to earn their business.
